Embellish It!

Hi everyone! Saturday again woot woot! I am back again today with my Kraftin Kimmie card and this week Sheri is our hostess and she would like to see us "Embellish It". No problem!

I have used one of Cheryl Algers images, this is from the Fairy Friends collection.  Papers are some older MME and my Trinket is from the Fairy Trinkets set. I have added some stickles around the edge also and the lovely butterfly die is from my BFF Elaine. I sprayed it with some adhesive then covered it with some glamour dust glitter for some nice sparkle. Fall is coming...

Hello everyone! Well, as much as I love summer, I love fall more. I just wish winter only lasted about a month then right into spring is all. Which brings me to the DP2 challenge which is "Goodbye to Summer". I am trying again for the guest dt position, maybe one of my cards will catch their eye right?

This is Peaches and peaches and apples make me think of fall and pie, hmmm, now I am getting hungry too haha! Anyways, this is some new papers I just got, Hipster by Basic Grey and I am loving them. I have really been drawn to some darker colors lately, but hey, it is all good.

Button bonanza!

Okay, well not really a bonanza. If you know me then my cards have a few embellishments but a bonanza would be a bit of an overstatement! Anyways, our inspiration this week for La la Land Crafts is to use buttons. Now I love buttons but never seem to know how to use them. Definitely something I should work on cause they are truly nice little embellishments.

I have used Tea time Marci on my card today, I don't drink coffee but LOVE me a good cup of tea. Hot or cold, I'm not that picky.

I have used three buttons down the side of course and a sparkly little heart on the corner to balance the image a bit. My birdcage die has been coated with a layer of frontage to add a little texture to it. I am trying to make my shading a bit more dramatic so thanks to my buddy Alyce for her encouragement and inspiration.

Krafty Kardmaking Kit take 2

We've had such wonderful response at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps to our first Krafty Kardmaking Kit, that we thought we do a little follow up HOP about it!!

I have chosen to use an older image, this is Batty and catty and I have tried to go for a "Bride of Frankenstein" look with her hair, not bad for a first try! I apologize, I didn't keep track of my copics this time cause I colored up the dress one way, didn't like the colors so colored over it. I promise to do better lol!

Happy Birthday Debbie!

Sunday evening already, boy do these weekends go quick! Luckily I am off work this week with lots of cardmaking on my list. Of course that list also has a bunch of "non-fun" work on it too but I think I can get some of both done.

I just saw that Mo Manning is having a call for a guest spot and since I ADORE their images, I am definitely going to play along. Here's hoping! I have used the image Patience for the "Happy Birthday" challenge and this is for my friend Debbie. She has had a bit of a rough year (a major understatement!) and although I haven't seen her in a long time she is frequently on my mind. We both have a love for cats so I thought I would make this for her to let her know I love her and I think of her often.

The papers are digital ones from Nitwit (thanks for the link Sharon) and I think you will be seeing a lot more of these, I love them! She is colored with copics and I have used a chalk pencil for a little bit of shading and a prisma pencil for some blue highlights in the background. There is also some "wheat" versamark ink around the edges but I am never able to get it to photograph well. Thanks for stopping by!

Back to School!

Today I have a little bit different project to show you for my La-la Land Crafts inspiration this week, please know this is for my 6 year old niece so you don't think I have gone off my rocker when you see it! She is starting kindergarten this year and our inspiration this week is "Back to School" so I thought I would make her a personalized backpack tag. My sister said her favorite colors are hot pink, green and purple so that was what I did.

I have colored Sweetheart Marci up with the same hair colors as my niece McKennah then I fussy cut her out and put her on some pretty dp which I backed with some white cardstock so I could put her name on the back. You could of course add your phone number, address or whatever you felt was appropriate. Next, I used a Scotch self laminating sheet to make it sturdy and protected and trimmed it smaller and rounded the corners then I glued on all the little plastic beads and an acrylic flower. I think the beads are a little over the top myself but McKennah will love them. Finally I added a chain at the top so it is easy to put on her backpack and we are ready to go! No one is gonna mistake her Dora the Explorer bag for theirs now!
