Cloudy skies for Paper Sundaes

Happy Sunday everyone! This weeks challenge at Paper Sundaes is sponsored by Letraset and the challenge is to make a cloudy/sky background. I used my Silhouette (love it!) to cut out some cloud shapes then used them to brush some Tumbled Sky Distress Ink around them.

My image is from Susanas custom art and card design and is from the new Victoria Case collection. I just loved seeing her with the puppy. I also did a little stitching, added some flowers I just came across from MS and a MFT border. Any questions just shoot me an email and let's see your cloud backgrounds!

Sugar Nellie and Cupcake challenge

Good morning everyone! Well, I think perhaps this dang cold I have had now for two weeks seems to be on its last legs and I was able to make a card last night without coughing all over it. Yuck! This is one of the last releases from Sugar Nellie and was sent to me by my wonderful buddy Elaine, I won blog candy from her and this was one of the stamps I chose.

The challenge this week for the the Sugar Bowl is a sketch with the option of lace and since I LOVE lace that was a no brainer for me. The hard part is giving up a little piece of lace from my stash. I confess, I am a lace hoarder and I don't want any help! Paper is My Minds Eye and I added some stickles along the edges of the image for some bling. I am also entering my card into the Cupcake Crafts Challenge which is shabby and bling. I got the bling, not so much the shabby.  Ok, off to work I go!

Ladybug Tuesday reminder

Hey everyone! Just wanted to remind you that you only have a few days left to play along in the Ladybug challenge for July which is Summer Birthdays. We will be back next Tuesday with our next challenge.

Beach and/or summertime card for Michelles!

Good Morning guys! TGISunday I have to say! Last week really wore me out between being sick for almost two weeks then Friday my car died while I was out seeing patients and I sat in 100 degree heat (literally!) for over 2 hours waiting for AAA to come and jump my car. I went to bed Friday night at 6pm and got up Saturday morning at 8am. I guess my body said enough already and just figured I had dealt with enough and was gonna get a break one way or the other!

Enough babble, my card this week is a mo manning image available at Michelles Scrapbooking called Lil umbrella.

The paper is by American Crafts and is called Margarita, pretty appropriate huh? A flower from Recollections at Michaels and some sand ultra fine Flower Soft. Not too sure I like the sand though, put it on, thought it looked better without it but after I got it off there was still glue all over so put it back on. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!  Alright, let's see your beach/summertime themed cards for a chance to win a gift certificate at Michelle's. And if you live in Northeast Ohio or Northwest Pa she is gonna have a booth at the flea market in Hartville starting next month and you can bet I will be there! I am entering this card into this weeks Mo manning which is Summer Vacation.

Some Odd Girl challenge

Saturday evening and I am on card number two. You can't see the other one til tomorrow for my Paper Sundaes challenge but it came out really well, in my opinion anyways! My other card is for the Some Odd Girl challenge and it is to "lift" an odd girl card. I chose to lift a card from Leahs blog.

This is Snuggle Tia, I love the Tia images, definitely my fav's. More Minds Eye Paper and some buttons from my stash. I made the banner just cutting out the triangles by hand and glued them on some twine. They are also popped up on pop dots and so is Tia for a little dimension. Ok, almost time to call it a night, this heat is wilting everything including me!

Simon Says Stamp Christmas in July challenge

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. The weather here has been gorgeous and I am trying to enjoy it cause winter will be here before we know it. And you guys know what that means...Christmas cards! Yikes! Including this one I have two made. Yep, that is it. Our challenge this week at Paper Sundaes this week is Christmas in July and is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp.

This image is by CC Designs and is called Darby and Pudge except I don't have pudge on here. He is a little bird and is all colored up and sitting on my desk but I just couldn't make him fit in where I was happy with the look. I have some chipboard snowflakes I colored with viva decor metallic paste, some christmas trim (thanks Patty!) and a sentiment from lotv that I edged with stickles. I added some glamour dust to the trim on her clothes too, I love that stuff, such sparkle! Ok, time to get started on your Christmas cards and enter for a chance to win from Simon Says Stamp. Oh, I am also going to enter this into the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

Vintage, lace and sort of distressing

Happy Wednesday everyone! The middle of summer and somehow I have managed to catch a cold. Just special that way I guess! I did manage to make up a card on Sunday though and am entering it into the Mo's digital pencil challenge which is vintage, lace and distressing. Well, I am real happy with lace cause I LOVE lace, I have hoarding problems with it, etc etc but the vintage and distressing well...

My "attempt" at vintage and distressing is to use softer colors than I normally do and I added distress ink in vintage photo to all of the edges. Her apron looks a little bright in this picture but it does match the soft rose pink in the papers better irl. I have added some prima epoxy dots at the bottom, a little decoration from my new silhouette behind the sentiment and some brown ribbon on the side. Hope you guys like the new format on my blog. Gotta change it up every once in awhile ya know!

The Sweet Stop Sketch

Sunday evening and it has been a hot one today, it is 6pm and still 90 degrees! I love having my windows and doors open but even I caved and turned on the AC. I made this card for a friend of mine who is going in for surgery tomorrow and I used the The Sweet Stop Sketch for the layout. I am a sketchaholic, if I don't work with a sketch I am totally lost and this one is gonna be used a lot! By the way, I have changed the way I am taking my pictures to see what it is like, don't think I really notice much difference but let me know what you think. Better, worse, no difference at all!

I have used one of my older lotv stamps and I cut my image out with a spellbinders die then colored the embossed edge with some gold shimmerz paint and cut out an additional layer. So it looks like three layers but is only two. A little lace and ribbon and some viva decor pearls in the corners. I was dying to put some flowers on it but since I am mailing it figured I better not. How do you guys mail cards with big embellishments on them? I mostly just give mine out by hand but there are times when the postman is my go to guy. Enjoy the rest of your evening, work starts again tomorrow!

Paper Sundaes and paper piecing time!

Good morning all my fellow crafters in blogland! Time for another Paper Sundaes challenge and this time we are sponsored by Heather Ellis. She designs the pure innocence line of stamps and they can be purchased at her etsy store. I have been a fan of hers for awhile so love this challenge and always admire paper piecing although I don't use it as much as I should, it always adds another dimension to your image I think.

I have used October Afternoon paper, Modern Homemaker, plus a little bit of lime twist by My Minds Eye behind the image. Buttons from PTI and the ricrac is from my stash. The sentiment is by lotv and I used a fiskars  border punch for the red trim around the sentiment since I broke my scalloped circle punch, broke the darn handle right off! I used more of the lime twist paper for the paper piecing on her dress and tried to add a little shading on it with my copics. Viva decor pearls in the corners and I am done!

Summer birthdays at Totally Ladybug Tuesdays

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope all of you that had a nice long weekend here in the states had great weather and got to enjoy time with family and friends. We went to my parents and worked in the yard so my flower beds are now nicely mulched and pretty. Today we are being challenged to make a birthday card with a summer theme. Sue has provided this challenge and I used Cupcake Ruby to make my card today. You can purchase her here at Ladybug Crafts Ink.

I tried to use some bright papers along with flowers to meet the challenge. She has a MFT border on the bottom and a doily I painted with some shimmerz bubble gum paint to make it sparkle a bit. It also makes it curl so you have been warned! And since butterflies are synonymous with summer and I have seen them on so many cards lately I made one myself from a MS punch, some gold accent on the edges and glittered up to boot. Ok guys, your turn to show us what you interpret as a summer birthday for your chance to win a free stamp or be picked as one of the top three!

Anyways, today at Paper Sundaes we are being sponsored by the ever so adorable stamps at Lili of the Valley. This is one of my favorite stamp companies and my card is featuring one of the new releases called Milly Flower Power.

I made the roses with felt and my MFT rolled rose die with a little bit of stickles on them, pearls in the center of the blue ones and a metal mini red rose in the red one but I don't think you can see it here. Ok, get out your lotv stamps and enter for your chance to win!

Bright challenge at Some Odd Girl

Hope you are all having a great Saturday evening, or Sunday morning depending on where you might be in this big world of ours! Today has been hot and muggy but I did manage to get some yardwork done this morning, shopping at Sams Club this afternoon and a card this evening so my day has been pretty productive.
I found this new (to me) digi and clear stamp site called Some Odd Girl and I just had to have this image. She is called Beachy Tia and was a blast to color. Their challenge this time is Bright and Blinding and since I love me some bright colors this was right up my alley. I have used my Delovely papers, a Fiskars punch and a chipboard flower I painted and layered up. I also painted the edge of my image with some shimmerz paint to give it a little bling. Hope everyone gets to enjoy their weekend and please come back tomorrow for my Paper Sundaes post! I am also entering this into the following challenges.
