Something for dad

Happy Friday my friends! Today we have a new inspiration at La-la Land Crafts and for this week we would like to see you make "something for dad". Well, my dad as a lot of you know, has been very ill over the past year but has made a bit of comeback over the past month and the one thing he is working towards is to be able to go fishing sometime this summer, so Fisherman Luka was my obvious choice.

I have also used the Christmas tree die to give it a woodsy look and see that fishing lure in the upper corner? Well, I sorta had my husband dig thru his stash and hand it over. I was told it is a "expensive rare rooster tail lure" to which I replied, "well now it is a card decoration" LOL! He is a good sport and even cut off the hook for me without grumbling too much. I also tried a little bit of the chalkboard technique on my sentiment and have to say I kinda like it!

Okay, make sure you hop around to the other girls blogs for some inspiration. I have listed my copic colors below.
Copics:
Hat and shirt: E41-43-44-47-49
Rod E53-55-57
Shirt and socks: YG 61-63-67
Hair: E11-13-15-18-19-29
Bucket: C1-3-5-7-10
Pants: YR12-15-16-18

lol... Amanda I am still chuckling about Joe having to hand over his expensive lure. Too cute! Even Jerry got a good laugh from it.. He says that is something I would do and say. =O) Awww the dangers of being married to a crafty woman. Anyway, I love this card. I am sure that your Dad is just going to love it too. I love your coloring as always and I for one think the lure just makes the whole card. Hope you have a great Friday and an even better weekend. Hugs, Lisa

Your sweet sense of humor just makes my day !!! So nice of your hubby to be so sweet to share his tackle box with you. I found some cute buttons on my husbands shirt once & ended up going thru his closet & cut all the extra buttons of all his shirts. He never uses the top button so he won't miss them right !!! This card is AMAZING !!! Not only does the fishing lure add so much interest to it your coloring is just outstanding. Great work Amanda...
Hugs, Janie

I can't believe you swiped a fishing lure from your husband! But you were right, it's THE perfect embellishment for this terrific card.

I'm so glad to read that your dad is doing better. That's great news!
