The Sweet Stop Sketch

Sunday evening and it has been a hot one today, it is 6pm and still 90 degrees! I love having my windows and doors open but even I caved and turned on the AC. I made this card for a friend of mine who is going in for surgery tomorrow and I used the The Sweet Stop Sketch for the layout. I am a sketchaholic, if I don't work with a sketch I am totally lost and this one is gonna be used a lot! By the way, I have changed the way I am taking my pictures to see what it is like, don't think I really notice much difference but let me know what you think. Better, worse, no difference at all!

I have used one of my older lotv stamps and I cut my image out with a spellbinders die then colored the embossed edge with some gold shimmerz paint and cut out an additional layer. So it looks like three layers but is only two. A little lace and ribbon and some viva decor pearls in the corners. I was dying to put some flowers on it but since I am mailing it figured I better not. How do you guys mail cards with big embellishments on them? I mostly just give mine out by hand but there are times when the postman is my go to guy. Enjoy the rest of your evening, work starts again tomorrow!

Well! You did it again and created another of 'my favorites'! LOL. I love the layout and your die looks beutiful...kind of like your coloring! I mail my 'bulky' cards in a padded envelope that I get from SU. Since I love putting flowers on I go through a lot of these. I haven't found a cheaper way, so let me know if you discover one!

Beautiful card Amanda and I'm sure it will cheer up your friend. Love the painted edge and you're right, it does look like 3 layers. I'm going to have to give that a try. Beautiful coloring as always and pretty dp too. It's been a very hot day here too.

Wow what a gorgeous card Amanda, your friend will be thrilled to receive this. My absolute fave background paper red and white polka dot and i love the other hints of colour you have added. Amanda i feel really bad as i made a comment about that little brush stand you use as you have changed the way you are posing your cards. I was just interested as a few people have been using them and wondered what they are and where to get one as they are great. I think both ways of displaying them is great and love that you have put them on an angle. Hope you are keeping cool now with the air con!!!big hugs Clare xxx

I love, love, love this card. The papers are so pretty and match each other and the image perfectly. The edge on the die cut is very clever too. Love it. xxx

P.S. I generally don't have to worry about mailing fat cards, as I normally remember I need to send something the day after, so whatever I make, needs to be quick!! ;) xxx

I'm thinking my cards are so boring and layers are the answer!!! This is so sweet and I LOVE the layers..especially loving the shape of the Nestie you've used...label number??? What are you doing different when taking pictures? I'm using my photo tent but still have to use PS to brighten them up. This looks great :-D xx

This is so sweet and pretty! I love how you positioned the sentiment on the side :) I always include a black piece of cardstock in front of my card to protect it a bit and slap and extra stamp on...Then I just hope for the best! LOL
