A pastel gift tag

Well, hopefully everyone has weathered the storm well this week. I have a new project for you today and I have used another one of the Ranger #10 tags to make my gift card holder. I have creased approx 2 inches up from the bottom, applied some tape to the edges and folded it back to make a pocket to hold a gift card on the back and decorated the front.

I was in a pastel mood so that is the colors I worked with this time. Image is Wee present by Sylvia Zet and there is an entire set also available at a discount too. She is colored with copics and I have accented her wings with stickles in diamond, my fav one. The sentiment is Kaisercraft and the poinsettia is make from a Spellbinders die. Susana doesn't have this one available at the moment but she has others that really finish off your item nicely. I have colored the white edges with a gray copic marker cause frankly, I am not that good at cutting out those intricate little bits. Not sure I like it but the white background seemed really harsh. Something to work on I guess. Ok, that's is for me today. Make sure you check back at the end of the week, we have some new images for you to check out!

The end of the Halloween cards

Hi everyone! Well, as long as Frankenstorm hasn't knocked out my power you will be seeing this post on time! Today is my last post as a guest designer for Cupcake Crafts Challenges and I want to thank Faye and the girls for asking me. Our challenge this week is to use a witch or a pumpkin or both if you like! My image is a Simply Betty image called Witchy Boo.

Ok, I am aware the sentiment is a Kraftin Kimmie birthday Trinket image but this is for my best friend Kathy who's birthday was Saturday and she loves all things "witchy". Papers are this years K and Company and I have used a MD border punch for the spider web on the side. She is colored with my usual copics and I have outlined the nestie with stickles in black diamond. One tip, if you use colored stickles around the edges of your nestie, I always color the edge with a similar colored marker before that way the paper doesn't show thru when the stickles dry as they tend to shrink a bit. Ok, one more Halloween card and your chance to win!

The snow is coming...

Sunday morning and if you are in my neck of the woods you are preparing for the predicted big storm that is suppose to hit the East coast sometime tomorrow. Well, I am as prepared as I can be but sure do wish I looked like Quinn and her boots which is the image on todays card.

I have used Fancy Pants Hopscotch papers, she is colored with both copics and Shinhan markers and my accent stamp in the corners is Itty bitty corner stamp by Lockhart. My shading on the corner images and around Quinn is done with prismacolor pencils. I have used some of the new Art Anthology gelate in frost for my snow, I just applied it with a palette knife and then took a qtip and dabbed it to make some texture. Really pretty. Some stickles glitter glue to the edges of my sentiment and ribbon and flower from my stash. Alright, hope everyone is having a great weekend and you are able to stay warm and dry. I would like to enter my card into the Blogabella challenge which is a sketch challenge, my fav!

This is Little Morticia and I have given her some funky hair and given her a couple of scary pets. The papers are Echo park Chillingsworth that I got from SCACD but again, things go quick there! Susana does still have some Halloween papers in stock though. This is so not me!

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday! Today I am showing you another one of the images available at SCACD and this one is also by Victoria Case, I just love her images. This one is called Skater. I cannot skate or ski worth a darn but I am really good at drinking hot chocolate!

Again, she is colored with a combo of copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers. The papers are older My Minds Eye but again, Susana has a wonderful choice of papers available but they go quick! I no sooner find some I like before they are gone so you gotta be quick and check back often! The corner embellishment is made from a die my friend Elaine and the lace is from my stash, flowers from WOC but SCACD has a nice selection too to fit any color scheme. Ok, make sure you come back Friday for a special blog hop for SCACD!

Time for a sled ride!

Good Morning my crafty friends! For the next few days I am gonna showcase some SCACD images for you. Todays card features one of the Victoria Case images called I Got your Back.

She is colored with both copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers. I have cut her out with a Labels 26 die and outlined the edge with what is now my favorite embellishment, my Viva Decor glitter pen in hologram. I have also filled in her ear muff with the pen for a little extra bling. The sentiment is a Trinket from Kraftin Kimmies. Papers are an older Basic Grey pad but Susana has lots of pads to choose from and they are always available for a great price! Ok, check back tomorrow, I have another card for you!

Paper Piecing at Cupcake Crafts

Hello hello! I hope you enjoyed all of the new Kraftin Kimmie images over the past few days. Today I have a card as guest designer for Cupcake Craft Challenges and our challenge this week is "paper piecing". I love to see this on an image and don't do it nearly enough. My image today is from Make it Crafty and for those of us here in the states she is also available at SCACD.

I have cut her out with a nestie, used my trusty Vica decor glitter liner for around the edges and on her wings. I don't see these particular papers in stock but SCACD has lots of holiday papers in right now and just listed a bunch more. Ok, make sure you check out the other girls cards and join in for your chance to win this week!

Good morning my crafting buddies! I hope your weekend has been wonderful and it is about to get better cause today is the blog hop for the new Kraftin Kimmie release! I am featuring another one of the new Lexi images today and one of the new Winter Trinkets.

I have used papers from SCACD although I don't see this particular pad there at the moment. My trinket is stamped with Memento ink and I have used my Viva Decor glitter liner pen to outline the image and to create my little bits of snow in the background. Ok, make sure you follow along in the hop for your chance to win a variety of stamps!

Sugar Nellie entry

Hi friends! Are you ready for the weekend? Well make sure you come back Saturday and Sunday for the new Kraftin Kimmie release and next week it is all about SCACD! My card today features one of the adorable Sugar Nellie images called Rosie.

Well, I followed the last sketch at the Sugar Bowl challenge but I am a day late and a dollar short I guess. That is okay though, I used kraft paper for the base and the doily so I can still play along with the Sugar Nellie challenge on their facebook page. Papers are Prima and the flowers are Petaloo velvet hydrangeas. Alright, enjoy your weekend! I am entering my card into the Live and Love Crafts challenge blog which is Autumn or Halloween.

Lexi and Lucas

Good morning friends, I am running a little behind this morning so forgive me for my late posting. Today we are previewing the latest Cheryl Alger release "Lexi and Lucas" and these are all snow related images.

I have used Lexi and the sentiment comes with the set. Papers are Bo Bunny and the snowflakes are Impression Obsession dies and she is colored with copics. Ok, make sure you check out all the girls and comment so you get a chance to win some of the Lexi and Lucas images!

Trinket time!

Do you know what day it is? Yes, I know it is Wednesday but it is also time to start the new release for Kraftin Kimmies! Woo hoo! And today we are showing off the latest Trinkets which are "Winter themed".

I am using one of the new Trinkets and one of the images from the recent Holiday Lulu set.

Papers are Simple Stories Handmade Christmas and she is colored with copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers. Lace is from my stash and I have outlined the Trinket with Vica Decor glitter liner in Hologram. I have even added some little pine cones and a couple of jingle bells to the corner for a festive touch. Ok, make sure you hop around to the other Krafty Girls blogs and comment for your chance to win the new Trinkets!

Two images are more fun than one!

Happy Monday morning my crafty peeps! Today I am showing you a card I have done for my guest dt spot this month for Cupcake Crafts Challenges and the challenge this week is to use two images on your card and our sponsor is Stamp Fairy.

I normally make square cards and after doing this one, I think I should continue with that!

I also tried to do more of a blue and red scheme using the patterned paper for my inspiration, again not so happy with this. But I do like the red paper glitter ribbon my friend Patty gave me last year! My image is from Stamp Fairy, colored with copics and I added some pearls I got from ebay. Ok, I guess you can't win them all, live and learn, yadda yadda yadda. Have a great week and come back on Wednesday for the new Kraftin Kimmie release!

Spooktacular Mummy!

Hi everyone! Saturday is here and my parents are coming to visit for a bit so that will be nice. Todays post is for Kraftin Kimmie's challenge and Jenny is our hostess this week and she is asking us to make a "spooky" card. Well, I had good intentions but the week got away from me so this didn't turn out quite as I had hoped.

I swear I have 20 layers of ink on the moon and sky and they still look rather streaky. Not quite so bad irl but still, that's a lotta ink! I did fussy cut Mitzi the Mummy out and am happy with her bandages and green hair though. I did add some stickles to the wooden stars and glued them on for some dimension and a little glimmer. Ok, the image up for grabs this week is Zelda the Zombie so make you sure you enter a card with a Kraftin Kimmie image on it and show us how spooky you can get!

My tag/gift card idea

Woot woot! It's Thursday which means we are in the homestretch for the weekend! Doesn't take much to make me happy does it? My project today is not a card (gasp!) but a gift holder using the Inksentials Manilla tags. The one I used is approx 4 x 8 inches.

What I have done is fold over the bottom portion of the tag 2 inches and then applied Scor tape in 1/8" on each side of the folded portion to make a little gift card holder. I stamped a "To and From" image onto the back which is from the Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage stamp set. I didn't do anything else to the back so there was room to write a note to the recipient. For the front of my tag I have stamped it with the Impression Obsession background stamp in Damask using Versamark Ink then embossed it with white embossing powder. I then sponged the background with Memento Ink. My image, the lovely Vintage Eyes from the newly released The eyes of fables is colored with copics and the Butterfly swag stamp is colored with spica glitter pens and then heat embossed and covered with a thick layer of UTEE. I know you can't see it in the photo but the UTEE really makes the sparkle from the pens much more vibrant. The sentiment is from Verve and I have cut it out with a Spellbinders die and lined the edge with a Vica Decor glitter liner pen, I am really liking it because it is easy to control the width of your line. Whew, that was a long post for me! I hope you  like my idea, you could really change this up easily depending on which image you use.

The ribbon on my Ladybug card...

Hey guys, I had a couple of people ask about the rosettes on my card for the latest Ladybug release and it is actually ribbon that is just rosettes lined up. I am super stoked that you guys think I am talented enough to have actually made that but nope, it comes on a spool....

Ladybug crafts floral release

Hello everyone! Today is a special day for me as I was asked by my wonderful friend Kerry of Ladybug Crafts Ink to participate in their latest release. Kerry and the Ladybugs were the very first dt I belonged too and I have to tell you, they are some of the nicest, funny and most welcoming gals I have ever hung out with.

Anyways, the latest release is called Floral Delight Too and we would also like you to incorporate embossing into your card to participate in the challenge this time.

I tried to go with a bit of a soft feminine feel and have embossed the gold "Just Because" in the lower corner and the edges of my image have been dry embossed with my Big Shot. I have added some spica pen glitter to the champagne in the glasses and then a layer of glossy accents. My leaf die is cut out of sookwang adhesive and then I rubbed glitter on it so that glitter ain't gonna nowhere! How is that for some good ole American slang? Ok, make sure you check out all the other Ladybugs to see all of the awesome digis available in the latest release!

Skulltastic!

Woot woot it is Saturday! Of course I am working, but still, it is Saturday! Our challenge this week at Kraftin Kimmies and our hostess is the oh so talented Cheryl. I get so much inspiration from her blog, she can use nesties like nobody's business! Ok, so Cheryl would like us to feature skulls in our card this week and I managed to get two, yes two, of them on my card. And even though I used a lot of glitter, thank heavens I didn't get any on my nails, hate when that happens! Also, make sure to check out our facebook page as we have some fun challenges for you to play along with this weekend.

I have used The Wicked Witch on my card today and unfortunately you can't see it but I have coated her dress and face with some twinkling H2O's and they shimmer really nicely. I also did the background behind her with the same and the bottom is purple irl, not sure I like it and it sort of looks blue but what is done is done. I have used one of the Halloween Trinkets for my sentiment and a skull key and metal embellishment to meet the challenge this week. The green spider is from Pier 1 as Cheryl is also an enabler in her spare time. Paper is Echo Park Chillingsworth Manor which I see is out of stock but Susana at SCACD has lots of others to chose from. Ok, time to get skulltastic and show us what you've got for your chance to win the image featured on Cheryls blog this week!

Congratulations card

Good morning everyone! Or afternoon I guess depending on when you read this. My card today was another one I was asked to make for a friends niece that is graduating from medical school and is going to be a pediatrician.

I have used Doctor Marci from LaLa Land stamps and thought it was perfect for someone going into peds.

Paper is MME The Sweetest Thing Tangerine and she is colored with copics and Shinhan Touch Twin markers. Flowers are from etsy and I have added a congratulations sentiment and decorated the inside a bit too. Ok, I am going to add this to the lala land crafts site, have a great day!

Think Pink!

Good Morning! I know, it is Monday and for some of us that is an oxymoron but hey, we all have a lot to be thankful for right? And I am thankful to be guest designing for Cupcake Craft Challenges this month and today is my first post for them.

This week we would like to celebrate breast cancer awareness and have you "Think Pink" for your card. I chose to use an image from La La Land crafts, this is Marci with Rose.

She is colored with copics and I have cut out a breast cancer awareness ribbon on my silhouette for an embellishment. I wish I had colored her hat a different shade, it really blends with her hair too much but I wasn't gonna scrap it cause I did that part last, sorry! Ok, make sure you join in and check out the challenge blog to see what you can win this week! I am also entering this into the Lala land Crafts blog.
