Xmas card number 1

Evening everyone! Well, I am on vacation this week and promised myself I would get a few xmas cards made. Might as well enter a challenge while I am at it too right? This is a whipper snapper stamp and the dp is by DCWC I believe, xmas paper from last year I think. The challenge I am entering is cute card thursday, the sketch was very simple but I am telling you, I took this darn card apart like 5 times. First I had silver tinsel ribbon underneath the image, then I added blue ribbon on top but then the image wouldn't lay down, used scrap dots but didn't help much. So then I pulled it off (again) and used a snowflake punch to make the sidepiece out of silver paper and added some bling. You can't tell in the picture but the coal on the snowman is glittery as is the snow on the ground and his hat and the light blue around the image is glitter paper. Ok, time to post this and watch Biggest Loser.

Too late to enter...

This was my submission for the just inklined challenge but I didn't realize there time is so different from ours and since I just went to the blog to upload my card and saw it was closed I guess Sept 26th at midnite must have been yesterday for us. Darn! Still have a difficult time making things look bright and shiny like a lot of girls are doing with their hair. Tried it on his cape but just sort of looks stripey to me (is that a word?). I did use some brads to spell boo on the side and I hardly ever use brads so at least I got to use up some stash.

Loving the cooler weather we are having right now and hope wherever you ate the weather is great and you are enjoying your weekend.

My REAL Paperworks card!

Okay everyone, this is the REAL card I am doing for Paperworks for their sketch. It is a cc designs image and I just loved the pumpkins on it. Fall is a beautiful time of year but it sure does go by quickly. I have used brown satin ribbon on all four corners to match the sketch and a spellbinders die for my oval cause it is the only oval shape I own. Tried to find one in the craft store but not much luck. Lots of circle cutters but very limited ovals. It is layered on a sheet of dp I found on sale at Michaels and then several layers of cardstock with an olive green base. Not much else to say except hop over to Paperworks and check out their stuff and submit a card. You could win next!

OOPS!!

Okay guys, here is the scoop. Because I am somewhat OCD I did what I thought was my guest designer card for paperworks but found out today they were a little behind cause they  just did a blog hop and my guest week is not til next week! Duh! So, the card I posted earlier follows this weeks sketch but is not for my week. That made sense in my head, hope it makes sense here too. So anyways, stay tuned for another card to be featured at paperworks starring "me".

Paperworks guest sketch designer

Good morning everyone! And a happy day it is because, number one I am off tomorrow (worked the weekend) and two I am the guest sketch designer this week at Paperworks. You should check out their blog, great work there!

This is a cc designs image, apple Emma I believe. A bit smaller image than I am use to working with (colored really quickly though!) because the size image I normally use wouldn't have left much room for the different shapes on the sketch. This is another birthday card and I used a rose instead of a sentiment as I thought it needed some more red somewhere. There is also some inking around the edges of the image with versamagic wheat but since I don't put it on very heavily it doesn't show well but looks better in person.

Ok, everyone, check out the paperworks blog and submit your design to be guest designer next week.

2 challenges

Hi everyone! Well, this is the card I had such problems with yesterday. This is the third image I colored up and this is what I am going with! This is one of the mermaids from kraftin kimmie, I have rock candy stickles on her tail but you can't tell in the picture. The epoxy sticker in the corner is backed with metallic paper so it is shimmery too in real life. I am entering this in the copic creations challenge which is shading and if you are looking for some great tutorials on copics that is the place to go. I am also entering it into the truly scrumptious challenge which is to use blue and green. I will try to get the actual websites up for you but now just trying to post while making supper.

Also wanted to thank all the people who have left me comments and my new followers. I get so thrilled to read all the comments and everytime I get a new follower I have to "update" my husband. I never realized how much the comments meant when I went to all the other blogs, liked what I saw but just kept going. I am going to make it one of my resolutions to be better at leaving comments so thanks again everyone. It is truly apprectiated!

Not a good day

Hey everyone, just a quick note today. I have tried to make the same card 3 times today and have only just finished it and am waiting for the stickles and decor pearls to dry before I photograph. First image came out nice but then couldn't find paper I liked, 2nd image was ok til I tried to change the color of the flowers and made a big mess so 3rd image is better but like I said, in the drying process. This card will be entered into the copic creations challenge and the truly scrumptious challenge which is blue and green. Will post the picture tomorrow.

Frankie and Kimmie

Evening everyone! Well I got some exciting news today, I won some stamps from the kraftin kimmie blog hop. I love her stuff and if you haven't ever been to her website she just had a release with a bunch of pin up girls. So adorable! Unfortunately I don't think Frank here is her type, see the sad look on his face! Sorry the card is a little wonky, looks like I didn't kneel low enough when I took the picture. I put some googly eyes across the bottom and used my MS web punch for the corners and the border on the bottom. Well, that is it for tonite. Oh, this card is for the JustInklined challenge. Frank is from there digital stamp line and the link is on the side of my blog. They have some really humorous stamps which is right up my alley.

Challenge card

Hey everyone, this is the card I am entering into the kraftin kimmie challenge which is to make it "girlie" and also the paperworks company challenge which is where I got the sketch from. It also happens to be a birthday card for another friend at work so I am killing like 3 birds with one stone as the saying goes. I have used Garden Vignettes from My Minds Eye and Garden Party from DCWV for the papers, and although they are hard to see I have used the white viva decor pearl pen in the corners. Black velvet ricrac across the bottom and some pink stickles on her skirt and feather to give it some bling. All colored with my copics.
Gonna try to make another card today as I seem to be on a roll. Just Inklined has some great images and they have an opening for a guest designer so wish me luck! Enjoy the beautiful weather, I am sitting here with my window open with a slight breeze coming in and a bird of some sort chirping away. Won't be much longer til I can't do that without freezing my behind off. (If only that actually worked I'd be sticking body parts outside all the time!)

Have a mice day!

This is a whipper snapper image I haven't used yet. Have had it for awhile but just didn't ink it up. Well, a friend is having a birthday this week so this is gonna be her card. Used the new xpress blending card from icopic on it. The paper is super smooth, you can really tell a difference from the Neenah I usually use and I agree there is no feathering but I don't think my colors blended as well. Maybe just some more practice. Not cheap stuff so it is gonna be used! Check back for my other post as I don't know how to put them all together in one yet. Patty Help!!!

Part two, kraftin kimmie challenge

This is the second part of my post today. I love kraftin kimmie stamps and my friend Patty is encouraging me to participate in challenges more so this is for the kraftin kimmie challenge this week. She is colored with copics on Neenah paper, stamped with memento tuxedo black and the dp is a new 6x6 pad from prima. Enjoy the weather today, starting to feel like fall!Posted by Picasa

A cat and a card...

Well, this is how my new lightbox was tested out. Apparently Lucy feels it is okay, not good enough to sleep in but big enough to fit her.

Copic class

Guess what I did today? Nope, not that either. I took a copic certification class here in Pittsburgh and guess who I sat by...Beate Jones from SCS (Splitcoast stampers for those of you not up on the abbreviations). Needless to say I tried not to say or do anything stupid and I think I may have succeeded. She is very personable and friendly and her work was awesome. Also want to thank Colleen Schaan (think I got the spelling right) as she was the teacher and made the class a lot of fun, the time just flew by. Now I need to hunt up or buy a blank journal to start making my sample book. Add one more thing to the list of stuff to do.

Oh, and also wanted to say "Hey" to my new buddy April. Wish we lived closer but where there is a will there is a way, (and an IKEA)!

Ok, this card is for my baby sister. We are constantly on a new diet and she is trying pretty hard this time. The inside says "you will always be my little sister". Seeing how she rarely checks my blog (bad sister Jenn) she will probably get the card in the mail before she sees it here.

Ok, supper is ready so will chat later.

Birthday for my father in law

Ok, tried using my light tent today. Better but still needs some work. I think this is mostly my angle as I was bending over and looking down at the card. I don't think I care for the white background much either. Need to find some colored paper for in the background I'm thinkin.

This image is by mo manning. Her images are so detailed and a lot of whimsical designs too. And most of them are only $3 each so you can get quite a few without breaking the bank.

Ok, let me know what you think. Constructive criticism is welcome!

I have followers!

Hey everyone! I know this may not sound like a big deal to you but I have 6 followers to my blog! And two ladies I have never met! Hi Patty and Sharon! I am having trouble with my email for some reason but I wanted to say thanks for the support and I will try to continue to post things of interest for all of you.

Now onto this card with the really poor picture quality and lighting. It is about 9pm so I have no daylight and I don't have my new light box set up yet so this is what you get since I have to give this card away tomorrow. This is for a friends 41st birthday and on the inside it says "from your 110lb friend". That saying is from Art Impressions, they have great hilarious stamps and sentiments. The stamp itself is a digi image from bugaboo stamps and the paper is Citronella by K and Company.

Alright, will try to get the light tent up and running over this (YEAH!) long weekend so you don't have to squint and turn your head sideways to make the card look good.
